The Beverage Manager, under the direction of the Food and Beverage Director or the Casino General Manager, is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Beverage Department. The Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing Beverage Department team members. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Coordinates and directs team members, meets with staff, assigns and reviews work, approves overtime, hires, fires, and schedules and approves leave and handles team member issues and concerns.
- Develops, manages, and monitors department budgets.
- Plans promotions within the bars.
- Works special events and other departments as needed.
- Attends department head meetings, and training classes.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Fills in for Bartenders and Servers when short staffed.
- All other job related duties as assigned.
Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, executives, customers and outside vendor/service providers.
Position very heavy with team or dual lifting of objects over 100 pounds and frequent lifting/carrying of more than 50 pounds. Physical factors include constant standing, frequent walking, use of hearing, near/midrange vision, typing, bending; occasional sitting; occasional pushing/pulling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, manual handling, use of smell, far vision, depth perception, and color/field of vision. Working conditions include constant exposure to noise and air quality and occasional exposure to weather, extreme heat/cold, wet/humidity and vibration. Potential hazards include frequent exposure to electric shock, client contact and computer use.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of management experience working in beverage department operations.
Certification/License: Must undergo a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission. Sanitation Certificate required within 6 months of hire, training will be provided. T.I.P.'s training required within 6 months of hire, training will be provided. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to use word processing and spreadsheet and data base software required. Knowledge of point-of-sale software and inventory control software preferred. Knowledge of liquor requirements and applicable rules and laws preferred. Must have excellent public relation/customer service skills and be able to exhibit a friendly and positive attitude. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Must be able to work with minimal to no supervision. Must have leadership skills and team building abilities. Ability to analyze retail and food and beverage reports required. Ability to handle pressure in a fast paced work environment required. Must be able to work extended hours when needed. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Must have basic math skills. Must have conflict resolutions skills and be able to resolve issues and provide direction to staff. Native American preferred.
REMUNERATION: $33,123.00 ($15.92 per hour)
