The Convention Services Coordinator is responsible for servicing all convention and conference groups, including in-house groups. Works closely with Sales Managers. The position is responsible for planning and coordinating with Catering Manager. The position also makes all arrangements i.e. audio/visual needs, room set ups, entertainment ryders, group signage, special events, etc. to ensure the success of all conventions, conferences, and banquets.           


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)


  • Plan and coordinate room arrangements (internal).
  • Plan and coordinate room set up for conventions booked.
  • Control function rooms diary and inventory.
  • Maintain group files for proper coordination.
  • Onsite visits with sales managers and meeting planners.
  • General Banquet Event Orders.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)


  • Entertainment riders.
  • Order AV equipment.
  • Other job related duties as assigned.




Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, executives, Board of Directors, customers, outside vendors/service providers and general public.




Sedentary, primary sitting/lifting of maximum of 10 pounds. Constant computer use, hearing and vision. Frequent standing, walking, sitting and typing. Occasional driving.







Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.


Experience: Minimum of 1 year previous Banquet/Catering experience required, 3 years preferred.


Certification/License: Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment and random drug testing.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Sales Program Visual One preferred. Ability to use AV equipment and set-up preferred. Must have customer relation skills and be able to work in high volume operations.  Must be detail oriented. Must have basic computer and math skills, leadership, team building, customer service and communication skills. Must be able to speak clearly, be flexible with schedule, work extra hours, travel and drive.  Native American preferred.



REMUNERATION:             $14.42/hour
