The SDS Systems Operator/Analyst, under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for the health and performance and data of the Slot Data System. The position is responsible for providing attentive, cheerful, courteous, professional customer service to all customers, internal and external, striving to always exceed their expectations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)


  • Analyzes, develops, maintains and improves procedures related to the Slot Data System.
  • Develops analysis of slot machines at all five Kewadin properties in monthly reports.
  • Develops a complete understanding of operations in order to maximize revenue.
  • Maintains necessary data and security requirements established by the NIGC.
  • Coordinates SDS and related systems updates, upgrades, functionality and changes.
  • Works closely with external and internal customers and vendors to resolve gaming issues.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains logical records and schemes of all SDS components.
  • Develops and performs varied tests as required and requested by management.
  • Prioritizes critical issues and balances day-to-day activities with goals set by management.
  • Manages SDS data, slot file, users, and user groups in accordance with MICS.
  • Administers Slot Data System and related gaming systems, servers, printers, scanners, computers, switches, and computer equipment.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  (includes, but is not limited to, the following)


  • Provides annual budget on expenses and capital expenses related to the Slot Data System to the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Align business needs and management goals with current IT infrastructure.
  • Inform management about relevant gaming industry trends, products and services.
  • All other job related duties as assigned.




Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, executives, Board of Directors, customers and outside vendors/service providers.




Position heavy with lifting of 100 pounds maximum with team or dual lifting and frequent lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.  Physical factors include constant use of hearing, use of near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision, typing; frequent standing, walking, sitting; occasional carrying/lifting, pushing/pulling, stooping, kneeling, reaching, manual handling, travel between casino properties, travel and bending. Working conditions include frequent exposure to air quality and occasional exposure to noise and vibration. Potential hazards include constant computer and equipment use and occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts.




Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Computer Science or related field in Computer Information Technology or Computer Networking required.


Experience: One year of experience managing information systems preferred.


Certification/License: Will be required to have a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing. 


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Technical knowledge of personal computers and services is required. Detailed knowledge of computer networks and server hardware is required. Knowledge of AIX, Linux, Microsoft SQL and Windows Server OS is preferred. Knowledge of word processing and database software is required. Above average organizational skills is required. Must be able to work cohesively in a team oriented environment. Must be able to handle busy, ill-timed and stressful situations. Must be able to provide support on a 24-7 basis during an on call schedule with a quick response time.  Must be able to work extended hours when needed.  Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Native American preferred.
