POSITION SUMMARY:
The Accounts Receivable Clerk, under the direction of the Administrative Manager, is responsible for assisting with the bookkeeping, clerical and filing functions of the Accounting Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Verifies cash and checks received and issues receipts.
- Prepares bank deposits.
- Verifies money in disbursement journals.
- Creates cash receipts entries.
- Enters and verifies cash receipts and invoices into accounting software.
- Files cash receipts numerically.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (includes, but is not limited to, the following)
- Voids checks.
- Maintains check log.
- Maintains yearly time studies and monthly copier and postage reports.
- All other job-related duties as assigned.
CONTACTS:
Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, executives, Board of Directors, customers, outside vendors/service providers and auditors.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position sedentary with primarily sitting/lifting of maximum of 10 pounds. Physical factors include constant sitting, use of hearing, near/midrange/far vision and typing and occasional walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, travel and bending. Working conditions include occasional exposure to extreme heat/cold, noise and air quality. Potential hazards include constant computer use and exposure to equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: One-year experience in accounts receivable and bookkeeping preferred.
Certification/License: Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of cash controls, bank reconciliations and Accounting Department policies and procedures preferred. Must have working knowledge and be able to use word processing and spreadsheet and data base software. Must have working knowledge and be able to use office machines, such as calculator, copier, fax, printer and computer. Must maintain privacy and confidentiality. Must be able to work with little or no supervision and exercise good judgment and initiative. Native American preferred.
